Introduction to UAE ECAS COC certification
The United Arab Emirates Bureau of Stards (ESMA) was established in accordance with the UAE Federal Law No. 28 of 2001 (UAEFederalLaw(28), 2001). It is the only national stards agency certification authority in the UAE. In order to effectively implement the UAE national stards, ESMA's conity assessment department implements a product safety certification system, referred to as the Emirates Conity Assessment Scheme (ECAS), which has been implemented since June 1, 2011.
According to the requirements of the ECAS program, all controlled products must apply for obtain a COC conity certificate as a customs clearance sales pass. ECAS certification not only includes safety, but covers the safety testing, perance testing, functional inspection, hazardous substance testing other aspects that may be covered by electronic electrical appliances (but does not include wireless testing, which is controlled by TRA certification). The UAE promulgated the UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 34 of 2013 (UAECabinetDecisionNo.34of2013) on December 31, 2013, which included lighting products in the safety energy efficiency certification program, which was mated by the Emirates Authority ForStardization & Metrology (ESMA) Implemented issued ECASCOC certificate as the issuing authority.

Introduction to UAE Energy Efficiency EESL Certification
ESMA promulgated implemented the National Energy Efficiency Conservation Plan (EESL) on April 13, 2011. According to this plan, ESMA has successively included air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, lamps under EESL's control since 2011. All products within the scope of control must pass product testing to register for EESL, complete EESL registration affix energy efficiency labels (as shown in the figure below) before they can enter the UAE market.

Application process

1. The prerequisite for applying for EESL registration is to have an ECASCOC certificate. If not, you need to apply for EESL ECAS at the same time. At the same time, EESL registration is an integral part of ECAS, because ECAS also controls energy efficiency. Taking lamps as an example, if there is only an ECASCOC certificate no EESL registration, the product cannot be sold in the UAE.
2. The holder of the certificate of conity must be a local legally registered company in the UAE, a registration certificate is required when applying.
3. Both the COC certificate the EESL certificate are valid for one year, you can apply for renewal one month before expiration.
4. COC certificate can accept series mos, but EESL energy efficiency registration is a single mo registration, the energy efficiency report must also be issued based on a single mo.
